This month’s featured art is a not-for-sale piece by Ricardo featuring Louisiana strawberry pickers, originally made for the New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice. Each year, International Workers’ Day (May 1) falls during strawberry season, when guest workers toil long hours amidst dangerous pesticides and exploitation by farm owners.
The monthly calendar is a simplified, complementary version of the Ricardo Levins Morales Liberation Calendar, featuring historical dates and a mix of new and old artwork, printable for use in your office, school, or you-name-it.
