Endangered Workers – Textile Workers
Protect our endangered workers: Textile workers. This poster is part of a series of “endangered workers” posters from the 1990s, and still relevant today.
The text reads: Textile workers occupy a confusing array of habitats, from large chemical treatment facilities to basement sweatshops and Caribbean garment assembly plants. Singing the hymn of global competitiveness, industry owners have unleashed a “race to the bottom,” ruthlessly pursuing the cheapest hands and dangerous shortcuts in their quest for ever greater profits. The textile industry provides a compelling demonstration of the need for solidarity that knows no borders.
