If I Can’t Dance

A poster with a dancing resistance fighter and quote attributed to early feminist and anarchist Emma Goldman: “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be a part of your revolution.”

Historians today think that “Red Emma” might never have actually said these exact words. They certainly capture her spirit, though, and remind us that revolutionary practice is best when joyful and inclusive.
