Solidarity, Resistance, Resilience: Twin Cities Movement Elders Reflect on the 2026 ICE Occupation (Zine)

“I’d never before been in a situation that felt like I was part of an occupied population in resistance…” -RLM

This zine, produced by RLM Arts, is a transcript of an April 2026 panel event featuring Ricardo Levins Morales, along with fellow movement elders Sandra Richardson and Susan Raffo, discussing the mass resistance to Trump administration’s “Operation Metro Surge” in the Twin Cities of Minnesota earlier that year.

Together with moderator D.A. Bullock, these respected activists and organizers discuss lessons learned and how to build upon the proliferation of mutual aid efforts, rapid response, protest, direct action and cultural work of that time. They place a particular emphasis on the role of racism and white supremacy, both in the moment and in history of the Twin Cities from first colonization through the George Floyd Uprising and beyond.

Alongside the text, the zine features full color illustrations by Ricardo Levins Morales. Preview a digital copy here, which may be reproduced for educational or noncommercial use.
