Community policing: We just want the community to heel!
“Community policing” is a strategy born out of military counterinsurgency tactics meant to legitimize systemic racism and violence in policing, by pairing friendly faces and selected neighborhood initiatives with information gathering/surveillance, SWAT teams and the pursuit of very minor infractions.
