Roll the Union On

“Roll the Union On” was only the most famous song by John Handcox, an organizer with the Southern Tenant Farmers union.  He helped build a rare, racially integrated Union in the depression years. Handcox slipped out of Texas with a lynch mob on his trail.

Known for his music and poetry as well as organizing, Handcox lived until 1992.
