Say Gay

Bigoted politicians across the USA have been proposing and enacting legislation banning gender and sexuality education in schools. One of the most odious bills was enacted in 2022 in Florida and deemed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and puts instructors who mention LGBTQ topics under threat of lawsuits from hateful parents.

In response, students have held walkouts, and teachers and parents have called attention to the chilling effect, impact on youth already at extreme risk of bullying and suicide, and redoubled support efforts for trans and queer youth. And allies and accomplices across the country have stood up to proudly say GAY.
