What She Wants (Bread and Roses)- 11×15″

Feminist labor leader Rose Schneiderman helped to organize and lead the original sweatshop workers in the early 20th century. Her vision of self-worth for immigrant women inspired the International Ladies’ Garment Workers Union.

“What the woman who labors wants is the right to live, not simply exist – the right to life as the rich woman has the right to life, and the sun and music and art.  You have nothing that the humblest worker has not a right to have also. The worker must have bread, but she must have roses too.”

This item is digitally printed; it is also available as a larger 17×22″ screen print on heavier stock for $24.95.
